Consultant (through Alltech International, Excel Global Partners, Verigent, Act Consulting and Collabera) for various clients including The Treasury Department (FinCEN), The Library of Congress, Vision Technologies, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of America

·   Hired to work, as a Senior Support Engineer, on an HP hardware (datacenter server) migration project, titled "Nucleus," for Deutsche Bank, that never materialized. While waiting for this project to begin, supported a, very large, cloud infrastructure that is the underlying environment in which almost seven thousand Java, or JVM (ie: Weblogic, Tomcat and JBoss), mostly container, based applications function. Only contractor on a four person DAP SME team (including the worldwide Deutsche Bank DAP cloud owner) that supported, primarily, the North American part of this global banking infrastructure.

·   Analysed the Library of Congress's Oracle 11g / 12c middleware infrastructure to confirm that it was setup and being run, and secured, properly. Created a comprehensive backup document detailing every singe step necessary to backup every component of this same environment.

·   Production (and other environment) O&M support of Oracle 11g R1, Weblogic, BI Publisher, OIM, OAM, OHS, OUD, SOA based SSO Middleware for FinCEN, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network; which is part of The Treasure Department.

·   Finished a (partially completed) VMWare ESX hardware transition project to new, harware redundant, iSCSI Clariion EMC AX4 SAN; refreshing a non-redundant SIPR environment.

·   Mapped all iSCSI connections for physical movement of the SAN into a data center down the road.

·   Worked directly with the webmasters who were programming on the U.S. Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned web site.

·   Managed a project to replace a physical server environment, for the ALTESS developer team, for all of that team’s external customers; including installing and configuring a (pre-STIGed) Windows 2008 VM, running a Multi-Server instance of Cold Fusion 9, as a template, to clone 7 additional virtual machines; so that several major government customers could be transitioned to new hardware.

·   Part of a Windows 2003 Server support team supporting several hundred Windows Servers; including about one hundred virtual machines, at ALTESS (Acquisition Logistics Testing Enterprise Systems and Services), at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA.

Senior Systems Engineer, Senior Technical Liaison, and Principal Project Manager

·   As the senior of two systems engineers, supported 50 (mostly) Windows 2003 servers for the world’s largest training center (of any kind), the Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S), at Ft. Sam Houston, as a right hand of the Chief of the G6.

·   Served as the senior technical liaison between the AMEDDC&S and the Ft. Sam Houston base DOIM IT personnel.

·   Managed most AMEDDC&S server related projects; including one where I worked with the junior administrator, one DOIM vertical blade server administrator, and two server design engineers, to spec out HP ProLiant BL200c vertical blade servers to replace all of the existing 50 AMEDDC&S Dell servers.

·   Stopped a congressional investigation by signing, and taking responsibility for, an unencrypted, and unsecure, application and database. Worked with the vendor, of this application, to upgrade Docuware from 4 to 5; providing built in, browser based, https (SSL) encryption in motion; and thus securing student school records after Army DOIM personnel locked TRADOC’s unsecure database down.

·   Before the advent of pre-STIGged OS images, secured and pushed through the CCB / ITIL approval process, for operational usage, a war games analysis server in one week; in addition to continuing to perform all of my other duties at the same time.

·   Copied, and re-configured, a VMWare virtual server, on the network, but off the AD domain, (in an unroutable subnet) in support of developers needing to harden web code after the school's primary (external facing) web page was reverse SQL injected (hacked).

·   Presented a status report, of my work, before the Change Control Board (CCB), after security hardening the operating system for the above server (that was hacked), to allow it to go back into production (per DISA standards); in agreement with standard ITIL practices.

·   After the junior systems engineer left, managed all 50 servers while training, and managing, both replacement, civil service and systems administrators.

·   Supported Docuware, NREMT, LXR, NRI, Sybase, ASAT, Solaris 9, HP-UX, Informix, DMLSS, and Clustered Microsoft SQL 2000 & 2005 Servers.

·   Supported webmasters, .NET programmers and DBAs in the transition to new servers.

·   Supported IIS, clustered web & SQL Servers, and one, two node, SharePoint cluster.
